Reflecting on Our 2022 Flowering Season at Utopia Clivias
The 2022 flowering season at Utopia Clivias was one of our most rewarding and vibrant to date. After years of careful planning, cross-breeding, and nurturing, we were thrilled to witness a spectacular display of blooms that exceeded our expectations both in quality and diversity.
This season marked a significant step forward in our hybridization program, with many first-time flowerings from exciting new crosses. The results were nothing short of breathtaking.
We were particularly proud to see several seedlings flowering true to type, demonstrating the strength and consistency of our breeding lines.
Some of the most promising newcomers came from experimental crosses aimed at expanding our collection of interspecfics, pinks, browns, and picotees.
It’s always a special experience to see the culmination of years of effort come to life in the form of healthy, flowering plants. Watching previously unseen crosses open for the first time is a moment of quiet wonder for any breeder—and 2022 delivered many such moments.
